For RCFEs only: Advanced Strength Training Techniques for Older Adults
An eight hour online course for licensed RCFEs
This 8-hour online course is available only to RCFEs that are licensed by the State of California. When registering for this course, please include your License number in the Notes section of the payment form. This continuing education course is ideal for activity directors or supervisors of activity directors who want to expand their knowledge of strength training for the older adult population, especially adults over the age of 75 that are at high risk of falls.
Credits: Advanced Strength Training Techniques for Older Adults course is approved by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) for 8 contact hours, Vendor 2000509-740-2. Content: More than 50 different strength training exercises and stretches will be demonstrated to meet the needs of older adults who have lost strength and functional capacity due to aging. You will learn how to effectively teach:
Balance and gait exercises
Fall prevention techniques
One-on-one exercise correction
Personal training techniques
Tuition: $59.00 per person
Includes online access for one person. This course is done completely online; nothing is mailed. Participants must pass small modular quizzes throughout the course and an 80 question written examination at the end of the course. A Certificate of Completion will be available upon the conclusion.
