What size weights should I bring?
We recommend starting with a set of 2-pound dumbbells - that's 2-pounds in each hand (a total weight of 4 pounds). When you have become comfortable doing the exercises and you're not getting mildly sore after each workout, then you may choose to use heavier weights that are 20% more than what you're used to using. Some people bring two sets of weights to class, i.e., a set of 2-pound dumbbells and a set of 3-pound dumbbells, so that they can use the heavier weights for the easier exercises. Some facilities have weights that are available for the Geri-Fit class, so there is no need to bring your own weights to class. Be sure to inquire when registering for class.

Please note: only dumbbells are used in the Geri-Fit exercise class - no hand weights, soup cans, or ankle weights are permitted. Weights can be purchased at any sporting goods store, Walmart or Target. You will also need to bring a stretch band and water to drink during the workout. If you need to purchase a stretch band, you can buy one through our website by clicking this link.
